Soapberry bug

Leptocoris mutilatus

Description:

Black and orange bug.

Habitat:

Riverine woodland.

Notes:

There was a cluster of a large number of these bugs. Observed in the Mbuluzi gorge, Mlawula Nature Reserve.

Wrong guy. It is a Leptocoris sp., but it is Leptocoris mutilatus.

Leptocoris hexophthalmus does seem likely.

Rhopalidae, Serenethinae, Leptocoris sp. and from what my eyes all see (or not see) it might be Leptocoris hexophthalmus. But I am not 100% sure. I try to get more information.

Hi Karen ,I don't think this is an assassin bug ,it looks more like -Lygaeidae.I could well be wrong though.
