Horned Lark

Eremophila alpestris

Description:

The only true lark native to North America, the Horned Lark is a common, widespread bird of open country. (Cornell)

Notes:

Adult Horned Larks eat primarily weed and grass seeds, but they feed insects to their young. The use of mowed areas around airstrips has allowed the Horned Lark to colonize regions where no other suitable habitat may exist nearby, such as heavily forested areas. (Cornell)

It's bearable when there's no wind! Luckily our 35+mph winds today are accompanied with 60f weather lol

Thanks Ashley. I'm not too fond of the snow and cold either, but it wasn't too bad with all the layers I put on today.

Great photos! I love birds in snow, just hate the snow. Even though these guys are common, I haven't seen one in months!
