Switchgrass

Description:

Switchgrass is a tallgrass prairie plants also found in North American savannas. It is a warm-season perennial grass with a deep root structure that makes it drought hardy. It may grow as tall as 2.7 m but it usually shorter.

Habitat:

Tallgrass prairies in North America.

Notes:

This native grass is often used in wildlife plantings and has been proposed for use in cellulosic ethanol production.
