Thanks Fyn. I'm not totally convinced from the photos in the link though. In my memory it didn't appear to peel/flake in horizontal strips like a paper bark, but maybe that only happens during 1 season. Maybe those little blisters eventually flake. There was just a small stand of them, probably planted, in the grounds of the Shambhala Mountain Center, Red Feather Lakes, Colorado.
