@Fyn, they are similar in coloring, but there is some difference in the pattern on the back. I don't think the one you are mentioning can be found in Europe.

Looks like a Black-and-yellow Garden Spider to me... But I live in the USA.

These lovely weaver spiders called Silver Silk Orb weavers as they view Silk like thick design like a their Signature on web. We call them in India Signature spiders. They are always cool in look.
