Description:

Pale fawn-grey. White on the underparts and insides of the legs. There is a black stripe down the spine, a black patch on top of the rump, and black bands between the gray flanks and white underparts. All four legs are black on their top halves, white below the knees or hocks, with black patches on the shins.(Smithers' mammals of southern africa a field guide. fourth edition)

Habitat:

Arid and semi-arid open grassland.

Notes:

In the too hot namibian savanha all the beasts try to cool themselves with long baths in the sparce water holes.
