Late Oyster

Sarcomyxa serotina

Description:

Very slightly fuzzy on the top of the cap with gills that extend a little ways down the stem and then stop abruptly. I have seen this species before, and some of them are very greenish on top.

Habitat:

Fallen log in a mixed forest. I think the log was birch, but I can't remember with certainty.
