A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Lynx rufus
This beautiful cat was taking in the view one evening in my friends backyard. It has a brown/gray coat with black spots, streaked legs, pointed, black-tipped ears and a stubby tail.
Backyard of a hilltop community overlooking the valley one evening. This is one example of an animal that is adapting to the ever expanding human neighborhoods. "The bobcat is an adaptable animal. It prefers woodlands—deciduous, coniferous, or mixed—but unlike the other Lynx species it does not depend exclusively on the deep forest." - Wikipedia
Full spotting and photographic credits go to my friend, Angie Stillwell who granted me permission to post these images to Project Noah. This is most likely the subspecies californicus.

I fell in love with these photos when I first saw them on my friends site. Such a beautiful cat and quite at home by her pool!
I added this to the Urban Biodiversity mission. Thank you for the suggestion.
Wow! That's incredible!! They're usually so secretive! Great capture!
