Victoria amazonica
Botanical Gardens, Denver, Colorado.
Oh, don't worry. I'm actually questioning myself! ;-) I'm not a plant expert by any means, so I feel comfy with genus level but don't know about species. I deduced that it's V. amazonica due to the fact that it's being displayed at a botanical garden and that's probably the most common species in collections.
thanks Aaron... I wasn't questioning your ID, just my ignorance! Do you happen to know what this is also?

I may not be 100% correct, but it looks like the Amazon lilies I've seen at other facilities in the U.S., so I feel pretty good about the genus. My zoo has grown them in a small pond outside our tropical American rainforest building and those spines are really formidable. They actually dry really well, too, and make for a cool biofact in hands-on presentations. :-)
thanks Aaron G. I always thought this was a lotus leaf! Lucky I asked for an ID...
