Common green darner

Anax junius

Description:

These large dragonflies were abundant one day, gone the next on Fort Myers Beach. They moved fairly slowly but I only saw one perch, and it flew away before I could snap more than one shot. I'm not familiar with larger dragonflies, so any guesses are appreciated!

Habitat:

Flying above a meadow at Bowditch Point, Fort Myers Beach, FL.
