Description:

Long-tailed Skipper - long tail, upperside is brown with black and light brown markings, body and wing base is iridescent blue-green. Wing span - 1 3/4 - 2 5/16 inches (4.5 - 6 cm)

Habitat:

Fields, edges of woods, gardens, and other open habitats.

Notes:

This picture was taken in my butterfly garden. The long-tailed skippers were seen drinking nectar from Porter weed and yellow Lantana.
