White-lined Sphinx

Hyles lineata

Habitat:

Porch light

Notes:

1,000th spotting!!! I was overjoyed when this awesome sphinx landed at my porch light. It let me take some great close ups of the face as well. These large moths look much like hummingbirds when they hover to feed on flowers. It's been a pleasure to contribute to this excellent site and I will definitely continue doing so! Thanks for your community and support!

Congrats on the 1000th spotting. What a beautiful moth to put up as a milestone. Good luck with your future spottings and many thanks for all the ID help you have given me.

Well done, Joshua :-) Congratulations. What a spectacular spotting to mark the occasion as well. I'll be an old man by the time I reach 1000 (spottings, not years haha)
