Rhagadolyra magnicornis
A small fly with about 12mm body length but relatively long wings. It was on an acacia with extremely fine leaflets and the plant was also covered in what turned out to be tiny striated sawfly larvae. Two days earlier I couldn't find anything live on this plant.
Marginal eucalyptus national park.

Sorry martin I didn't notice your comment. Looks like we got to the same place anyway :)) (the temporary sawfly title was simply because we saw it on the same acacia as zillions of really tiny sawfly larvae)
Mark the antennae are certainly of a true fly. Sawfly has long wasp-ish antennae. This fly will have two wings and not four.
I'd look here.....
Lauxaniid Fly. Sapromyza sp. http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_...
Note to self: thinking not sawfly now... antennae too short, too hairy on top... but check nematus...
