Cicada

Description:

Found him (or her idk) as a larva at the base of a pine tree. I put him eye level on a Southern Red Oak close to our house so I could easily monitor him. The molting process was amazing to watch!!! It took about 30 to 45 minutes. After this guy's wings were fully expanded he slowly made his way up the tree.

Habitat:

up hill pine land
