Vine Sphinx Moth

Eumorpha vitis

Description:

Upperside is dark pinkish brown. Forewing has sharp pinkish white bands and streaks. Hindwing has a pink patch along the inner margin and pale whitish brown along the outer margin. Wing Span: 3 3/8 - 4 1/8 inches (8.5 - 10.5 cm).

Notes:

In 4 o'clocks at dusk -- first time I have observed it.

Thank you! In the dark I thought it was a White-lined Sphinx and only shot a couple of images because I took so many last night. I was surprised when I viewed it on my computer and realized it was a new one.
