Didelphis virginiana
I am constantly receiving calls about orphaned baby opossums. Most of the time their mother is hit by a car and the babies survive in her pouch. The pictures show one of the many litters I've raised and released.

Welcome to Project Noah. I've changed the scientific name field for you and added a reference for this adorable spotting.
God bless you! it's nice to know that someone else loves possums & would be willing to raise them!
Oh my goodness how cute! Welcome to Project Noah!
Good work! You obviously have a good reputation at saving youngsters.
Aww they look so sweet! Keep up the amazing work of helping them! It literally means the world to them! :)
They are truly amazing creatures and I wish everyone could appreciate them. I had a handicapped possum for a while that I used for education purposes. Everyone loved him!
The same thing happens to puppies and kitens, Eva. It's a shame that opossums are maligned for their 'giganti rat-like' appearance and skittish nature (that leads to their fearsome displays when threatened). They are really delightful animals. I've raised a couple under the circumstance Caren describes and enjoyed them immensely.
Why can't adult possums stay this cute like these little ones? Very sweet babies!
