Description:

Stiffly upright, hairy annual herb 1 - 3 ft. Ray flowers absent, disc flowers numerous, rose to rose-purple, tubular. Heads usually crowded in stalked cluster; clusters usually several, the main outer branches elongating and forming a rather flat-toped terminal mass.

Habitat:

Moist ground alongside a city maintained pond.
