Turkey Tail Shelf Fungus

Description:

This species of brown and yellow Turkey Tail was very prolific throughout the forest, growing on dead wood (pictures 1 and 2) as well as live trees (pictures 3, 4 and 5). They can grow quite large during the wet season.

Habitat:

Tropical forest, dry season, Reserva de la Biosfera Calakmul.
