Eastern Gray Squirrel

Sciurus carolinensis

Description:

The Eastern Gray Squirrel is a medium sized tree squirrel. Often has grizzled gray hair and reddish hues, with a white belly. It has a bushy tail which has much longer hair than the rest of the body.

Habitat:

Prefers dense forests in both rural and urban areas, and frequents yards and city parks.

Notes:

I found this beauty carrying a pecan in its mouth outside of a church in my town.
