Sawfly

Rhogogaster scalaris

Description:

Rhogogaster is a genus of sawflies in the family Tenthredinidae, within the same order as ants, bees and wasps.There is a black band along the top of the light green abdomen.The black marking on the top of the head forms a figure of eight. The lenght is around 12 mm.

Habitat:

Forest edge. Adults visit a range of habitats hunting for small insects on flowers.
