Apis cerana
These Asiatic Honey Bees were spotted, in the rice mill backyard, sipping the nectar of some Fleshy-stem Bellflowers (Peracarpa carnosa). Plant information is from https://ceb.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peracarpa........ which is written in the Cebuano dialect. Google Translate doesn't do too well with this language, but it can be understood.
Apidae; Apinae; Apini; Apis cerana Fabricius, 1793. Every time I see these Asiatic Honey Bees, I am reminded of how intelligent they are. So, it was surprising to see them sipping from Peracarpa carnosa. The flowers are so tiny that I thought they could not harvest much nectar. I only watched them for a short time, but I soon noticed that their "Honey Baskets" looked very full. So I was wrong and the bees were right. Outsmarted again!
