1.6 inches long, white grayish on front of thorax and first half of abdomen. Markings on the front of the thorax form a pair of broad, white "corporal" stripes. They eat mosquitoes, deer flies and other insects.
Spotted at Tamarac near Pine Lake on Hwy 29. Habitat: boggy ponds, lakes & forested streams.
