Description:

A spectacular, native, flowering tree that has gorgeous white and pink spring blooms. You can see in the third photo how the tree grows nearly horizontal.

Habitat:

Spotted growing at the start of a nature trail in a mixed, swampy forest.

Notes:

The hardwood is very shock resistant and is often used to make pulleys, mallet heads, weaving shuttles, and spools.
