Hognose Snake

Heterodon platirhinos

Description:

Just a couple of feet long with dark brown designs...not diamonds.

Notes:

He was out sunning himself on the gravel. When we came up on him he coiled and then flattened his head and lifted it off the ground like a cobra. From a distance we thought he was a small rattler, but there was no rattle.
