Spotting

Description:

No idea what this would be, my first thought was that this was a nymph of a dragonfly, the adult getting ready to emerge. Seen under the leaf and not moving, it was mainly brown, but some whitish threads showing up on thorax. Third photo is here in spite of its low quality because it was the only one that shows the details on the end of tail. And finally, the fourth picture, shot from far away, gives an idea of the adult I associated with this larvae. I don't know if this is important, but that was the only species we saw there with shorter but stockier tails. We saw few other dragonflies adults, with those longer and narrower tails, (some sort of darters possibly) but could not get a pic.

Habitat:

Seen on shores of a fast flowing stream - Pic No5 shows a bit of its habitat. The fastflowing stream of clear and unpolluted waters, named Ljuta (meaning 'Angry one', describing its cold waters), starts from surrounding hills, and then flows through fertile and forested lowlands until it hits the Adriatic. Mediterranean environment, farmlands and woodlands.
