Turkeytail Fungus

Trametes versicolor

Description:

Turkeytail fungus is a type of bracket fungus, that grows in tiers. The underside is a creamy colour and porous and is the site of spore release while the upper is velvety, banded and black in this particular fungi. They do come in a range of colours from iridescent blue-green to brown but all retain the bands and cream coloured edge like the name sake turkey tail.

Habitat:

On a wooden post possibly chess nut.
