Phalacrocorax sulcirostris
The bird on left with extended wings is subject of spotting. Small cormorant (waterbird) completely black feathers with some brown, green and turquoise sheen, long beak with hook on end, webbed feet, short legs, long neck, dives under water to catch fish, good underwater swimmer. As with most cormorants the call is very much like a croak.
Found throughout much of Australia on waterways and coastal areas, except very arid central and western inland regions. This one in mixed bird group on coastal beach.

Thanks Pedro. The gulls are Silver Gulls (Larus novaehollandiae). They look larger than they are compared to the cormorants though as they are quite a bit closer to the camera. Immatures have grey legs, adults have red.
Beautiful spotting.
What are those gulls? C. novaehollandiae?
