Common Mallow

Malva sylvestris

Description:

This plant was approximately 3 feet tall and was covered in bright pinkish purple flowers that had dark veins. I was surprised to find such healthy, vibrant flowers so late in the season.

Habitat:

This plant has been introduced to and has become naturalized in the United States. I spotted it along a botany trail at a nature center.
