Corematura cf. chrysogastra
A small, colourful clearwing moth. The photo describes it better than any words I can think of.
Small area of rain forest at around 450 m. Beside a town but unspoilt rainforest close to a river.
Probably my favourite of many attractive day-flying moths seen on this trip. The 2 later uploads were taken in the same area BUT 6 days later. I think they will be the same species.
Thanks. Yes, one of my favourites and one definitely making me new displat of 9 moth photos at home.
OK, the top view of the one you have given a link too is slightly different to mine, though very similar. I don' know whether they will be the same or not.
Thanks Dominik and Karen.
I have photos of what might well be the same species on a different day, so will upload those Dominik.
I will then look at your suggestions and se if they match.
Erebidae, Arctiinae, Arctiini, Ctenuchina. Corematura sp., or Corematura cf. chrysogastra. No trustable ID around and mine is a museum specimen, which is tricky to compare but yours might be Corematura chrysogastra.
