Shag

Phalacrocorax aristotelis

Description:

Took a while to figure these two out without a clear view of the head at closer range but I think the relatively short tail and slim bill have clinched it as a Shag in winter plumage. The Cormorant is closer in size to the Grey Heron.

Habitat:

Tidal lagoon
