Thanks for the comments Jae, Zlatan and Mark. Never occured to me these might be slime molds. I've yet to really wrap my mind around slime molds. I looked at some pics of their fruiting bodies. Quite diverse. I've probably been seeing them and not realizing what they are.

Mark,I'm not sure what pupal case you're seeing. All I see is a dried up pine flower.

Great to see Myxos and Mycos together btw... and then there's the pupal case of some arthropod so you could post it a third time. 8-D

I also agree with Jae.
The distribution and thickness of 'stipe' is myxogastric to my eye.

Very interesting spotting; and I tend to agree with Jae that these are more likely some fruiting bodies.

Interesting spotting tomk3886. I think though that these aren't eggs but the fruiting bodies of a slime mold.
