Pierid Butterfly

Description:

This particular Pierid Butterfly is unusual, with dark orange upper wings and darkened wing veins. A wide black band on the upper margin of the upper wings and very pale banding on the lower margins and lower wings. The underside is bright yellow without bands or spots. The upper side of the body is a greenish color, while the underside is all white. I've never seen this one before. Family Pieridae.

Habitat:

This one was trapped in the car and succumbed to the heat.
