Cicada
Cicada found in my garden. These were two specimen apparently moving out of their hide outs as I moved the soil to welcome a new plant.
This species hides in holes in the soil and does not like to be out during the day. It's harmless and will gladly run from us. It's song is very high pitched and continuous (literally for hours!).
