Description:

A distinct tree fern different from the Hapu'u because of its dark bristle like hair on the leaves, resembling Boar hair. Can be found from sea level on lava flows to, harsh areas around Halema'uma'u crater and all the way up to 7000ft in lush rainforests.

Habitat:

from sea level up to 7000 ft. Lava flows to Rainforest.
