American Holly

Ilex opaca

Description:

Large American Holly tree in a tiny piece of forest in a suburb of Richmond, VA. As my headlights hit it, I saw a scary looking face in the tree. Looks kind of like a vampire/bat/demon from a movie.

Habitat:

Very small suburban forest.

Notes:

I work on cell towers and late one night I got a call to repair an outage. As I was driving on the dirt road to get to the tower, my headlights caught this American Holly tree and I saw the face.
