Broad nosed weevil

Psapharus ruficornis

Description:

A black weevil with broad white stripes and yellow antennae.

Habitat:

On eucalyptus in a nationaal park.

Notes:

Seen before in Anglesea heathland. This habitat is also similar to heathland.

Thanks Pam. Yes, I recall cjhasing weevils with you. These were numerous on the (only) two occasions when I saw them.

Great spotting martin, and I love the mating ones on Bowerbird. I am very partial to weevils !!

I hadn't looked closely at those bits.
Here are the anglesea specimens that have kindly already been identified for me on Bowerbird. They were awake, and show the antennae well.
