Description:

A fast moving nocturnal solifugid. Often called a sun spider or wind scorpion

Habitat:

Shrub-steppe scablands. Sand. Sage brush.

Notes:

It was disturbed during getting my car unstuck from sand. Very fast little guy!

Cammie, it is also called a Camel Spider and Sun Spider. The notorious camel spiders are overseas in Iraq and middle east. They get much much larger. This guy is barely an inch long. It isn't really a scorpion. That is just part of the common name that has no relevance to its actual species.

That is freaky! I thought it was one of those camel spiders at first. Our scorpions don't look like that here. Lol
