Eastern Garter Snake

Thamnophis sirtalis

Description:

pattern of yellow stripes on a brown or green background and their average length is about 55 cm (22 in)

Habitat:

swamp/marsh

Notes:

This garter snake was sunning itself on floating boarding walk. There were a few people walking it and even a couple coming towards us just as I spotted this snake. I asked them to stay still while I photographed it.
