Black Rhino

Diceros bicornis

Description:

Generally darker than the white rhino, but the best way to tell them apart is the mouth. White rhinos have a very wide snout, and black rhinos have a very narrow snout. There are less than 5,000 black rhinos left in the wild, I feel so lucky to have gotten to see one!

Habitat:

Far off the road past a dense thicket of trees. Was hanging out with zebras.

Thanks Antonio, Tom, and Arya. Yes, it was amazing to see a wild one since I know by the time I go back they probably won't be there

Agreed with Tom. There is a lot of attention around that reserve that is auctioning off a chance to kill a Black Rhino for charity... Seeing one wild and free is a big treat!
