I see what you mean Johan, however everything else looks right though. Do you have another suggestion? I am convinced this is a fly, and can not find any other ID on the net?

I differ from the ID. The back on your photo is dark while your ID shows lines on the back.

Nice spotting SZ. Isn´t it a hoverfly Austin? And smith´s zoo is correct and it would be trying to mimic a bee...
