Genus Scopula, Geometridae
Wingspan 30 mm.
bayucca,This one is smaller (wingspan 16 mm), the hindwing is more bulbous.https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/11...
Scopula perlata is not found in Vietnam, but mostly in southern Australia, like seen in the map on the link. To identify the genus Scopula, you will need to look at internal structures of the abdomen. Scopula sp. is the most safe identification without getting the species name wrong. Many moth genus's are almost identical to the look at with many new, and undescribed species. especially in the tropics where many people don't go to study such small moths, for example Vietnam, India, Bhutan, Nepal, ect. Thank you.Ornithoptera80https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/451005-...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scopula_pe...
bayucca, My country is currently devoid of life, many species are not marked on the world distribution map, even though they are, I am very sad about this.!
The genus Scopula is correct, but the species not. Scopula incanata is a European species and not found in Vietnam. Scopula is a tricky genus and yours has never been identified to species level until now.
