Falco berigora
Not the greatest shot! Brown Falcons have "a range of plumage colours, from very dark brown to light brown above and off-white below. Generally, the upperparts are dark brown and the underparts are pale buff or cream. The sides of the head are brown with a characteristic tear-stripe below the eye. Birds from the tropical north are very dark, with a paler face and undertail, while those from central Australia are paler all over." (Birdlife Australia)
This beautiful Brown Falcon is hovering (check out this little video: https://youtu.be/wW2iqXvGcZ0 ) in strong wind over the scrub which is near the edge of the cliff to the beach at Pender Bay on the Dampier Peninusla.
It was so windy this day. It was the day for several birds of prey to cruise along the coast line. They were this Brown Falcon, 2 Ospreys (Pandion haliaetus), at least one White-bellied Sea-Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster), Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus) and an unknown. Good times :)
