We have Coprinus plicatilis in Britain. It certainly looks like it.The common name is Pleated Inkcap and sometimes Fairy Parasol. I think Coprinus sp.is probably best for now. If you upload it into Mushroom Observer they will give you the correct Latin name.
Hi Adarsha. With fungi please try to get underneath shots. Often more important than top shots for ID. I think it's ok to push one over to see better. It is a fruiting body like an apple after all - they fungi would probably thank you for spreading it :-) I really like the soft pink centre on this one.

superb finding Adi !!
Nice spot. I like the name too ;-) I found similar one. I wonder if this will grow in north America.
Thank you so much Mark and Lenny for your wonderful suggestions :)
Means a lot :)

Hi Lenny,
As suggested by Jemma, Japanese Parasol (Coprinus plicatilis) and your suggestion seem to be correct.I am going to edit with Coprinus Sp.
or search coprinopsis, coprinellus or parasola
This is Coprinus species.
