Yellow Rat Snake

Pantherophis alleghaniensis ssp. quadrivittata

Description:

A non-venemous snake with a yellow body and black stripes down its back. Creamy white/yellow coloration on chin and underbelly. Very gentle when held.

Habitat:

Found in a hardwood forest next to a flatwood/swamp habitat. Rat snakes can live in a variety of habitats from farmlands to hardwood forests to forested wetlands.
