Jadera haematoloma
Red body, black and blue thorax.
Mostly on our deck under our Golden Rain Tree.
I have an infestation of these mostly on the sunny sides of my deck and doors. Anyone know what it is? Thanks to all who helped ID this one!
All I find on my local golden raintrees are red-shouldered bugs (aka soapberry bugs), which are the species that auntnance123 suggested above.
Mostly under a golden rain tree. There are some larger all black ones in the groups.
A photo of an adult would help immensely. I'd guess that if you have a large group of these congregating, there would be a few winged adults in the mix. Thanks!
Does your infestation look something like this? http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/629...
Which tree was it under? It could be Box elder bug or red shouldered bug, which I usually differentiate by means of the tree it was under.
