Great Crested Grebe

Podiceps cristatus

Description:

Medium sized, but the largest in grebe family found in Old World, diving bird with elaborate neck and head decorations during summertime. Nest close to shore. Adult in pics N° 1 and 2; young in N° 3 and 4.

Habitat:

Seen all year round on lake Geneva (Leman), well adapted to urban environment.
