Shamrock Orb Weaver Spider

Araneus trifolium

Description:

Family: Araneidae (orb weaving spiders) Come in various coloration and design, but female have large bulbous abdomens. Brown with white spots and blotches. Size of abdomen: 1/2 inch (1.27 cm). Circular webs can be up to 2 feet in diameter. Non-venomous, non-aggressive.

Habitat:

Meadow with abundant weeds and flowers

Notes:

4th one found in meadow on property.
