Same size as Blue Jay, much more subtle, dusty blue colors, no crest. Very bold, almost saucy. Fellow in the first picture was just sitting on a branch about 5 feet away, right at the trail head, as if to say "Welcome to my domain, foolish humans!"
Endemic to the Florida Scrub.
MY VERY FIRST SCRUB JAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was #1 on my "Must-See-Before-I-Die" list. A big big BIG day for me! Unforgettable.

*clapping my hands wildly* Congratulations!! Very exciting, Karen. The scrub jays here lmost always send a welcoming committee to the entrance of the park here as well.
