Painted Reed Frog

Hyperolius marmoratus

Description:

Maximum body length of about 33 mm. Pupil horizontal. The adult color pattern is extremely variable and has led to many systematic and nomenclatural uncertainties about this ‘superspecies’.

Habitat:

Rocks and cliffs close to a dam. (Hyena/Crocodile pool) -26.271241,31.982554 Altitude: 268.872 m

Notes:

All pictures are of the same frog. First two in the sun, and last three after he jumped and took cover in a small creek in the shadow. First picture is just before he jumped, so I guess he is aiming for the perfect spot...
