A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Nomada sp.
About 8-9 millimeters in body length, colored red as shown.
This bee was visiting blossoms of a lone, blooming saltcedar tree (Tamarix sp.) in a vast open field of degraded shortgrass prairie with yucca, sunflower, prickly-pear cacti, and scattered elm trees.
These bees are easily mistaken for wasps at first glance.
